Directed by Lars von Trier, Starring Kistern Dunst,
Charlotte Gainsbourg, Alexander Skarsgrd,
Kiefer Sutherland, Charlotte Rampling, John Hurt

Billed as "A Beautiful Movie About the End of the World," 'Melancholia' explores themes of German Romanticism and it is ultimately about a rogue planet crashing into the Earth. The End!

Significantly, its US theatrical release will be on 11/11/11, an apocalyptic date, according to some.

One wonders whether all of the Comet Elenin hype on the Internet has been a form of viral marketing for this motion picture's theatrical release in the US?

Because September 27, 2011 has also been predicted by New Age soothsayers to be a pivotal date in an impending apocalypse, this intriguing trailer seemed like the right thing to play today.

Lead actress, Kirsten Dunst received the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award for her portrayal of Claire. The film ends with the Earth being destroyed by a rogue planet.
